Chocolate Hazelnut Milkshakes At Burgerville!
If your New Year's Resolution is to eat more super-foods, then you're in luck: Burgerville is ringing in the New Year with the return of its Chocolate Hazelnut Milkshake, one of its most popular seasonal specialties.
This limited time treat features a combination of rich chocolate and roasted, ground Oregon-grown hazelnuts, blended with vanilla ice cream and topped with real whipped cream and a sprinkle of ground hazelnuts on top.
“With their sweet and nutty flavor, hazelnuts are the star of our Chocolate Hazelnut Milkshakes,” explained Burgerville Head Chef Becky McGrath. “These hazelnuts are locally grown in the Willamette Valley and roasted to bring out their natural flavor that complements the chocolate in the shake.”
Burgerville sources its hazelnuts from the Hazelnut Growers of Oregon, a farmer-owned cooperative made up of more than 150 Oregon family farms and growers. Burgerville and the Hazelnut Growers of Oregon share an ethos of sustainability and commitment to the land on which crops are grown.
It takes a special set of circumstances to grow hazelnuts, which are considered one of the highest natural sources of antioxidants among super-foods. They must be grown on the 45th parallel and have a specific temperate climate that’s protected by mountain ranges and large bodies of water. These circumstances come together in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, which produces 99 percent of all hazelnuts consumed in the United States. The hazelnut was designated the official state nut of Oregon in 1989.
Burgerville’s Chocolate Hazelnut Milkshakes are available now through the end of February. For more information, visit Burgerville.com and follow Burgerville on Facebook and Instagram.
